What is the difference between the Matrice 4TD and 4T?
The Matrice 4T is a portable, foldable thermal drone for manual inspections and search-and-rescue in moderate conditions. The Matrice 4TD is rugged, IP55-rated, and built for docked, automated missions with all-weather capability. Both share the same thermal and optical sensors, AI detection, and RTK positioning, with the 4T prioritizing portability and the 4TD durability and autonomy
Can the 4TD be flown manually without the dock?
Yes, the Matrice 4TD can be flown manually without the DJI Dock 3 using the RC Plus 2 Enterprise controller. While it’s optimized for autonomous, docked operations, it fully supports standalone manual flights. We offer all-in-one kits designed for full-day operation without a docking station.
How long does it take to charge the 4TD battery?
The 4TD battery charges from 15% to 90% in approximately 28–29 minutes.
Does the Matrice 4TD have anti-collision for nighttime operations?
Yes. The 4TD includes anti-collision features for night flights, such as strobes, a Near-Infrared (NIR) auxiliary light for low-light visibility, full-color and black-and-white night vision modes, and optional obstacle sensing modules to help avoid collisions.
What is the flight speed of the DJI Matrice 4TD?
In Normal Mode, the DJI Matrice 4TD reaches 33 mph (15 m/s), and in Sport Mode, it peaks at 45 mph (20 m/s). It ascends at up to 13.4 mph (6 m/s) and can withstand winds of 26.8 mph (12 m/s). Speeds may vary based on conditions or payload.
How do flight times and ranges differ between the 4TD and 4T in real-world scenarios?
Both hover around 49–54 minutes max, but the 4TD edges out with 54 minutes and better wind resistance for longer effective ranges (up to 15 km transmission).
Is the Matrice 4TD weather-resistant?
The Matrice 4TD is IP55-rated, and the DJI Dock 2 is IP55-rated as well, offering strong protection against rain and dust. This setup allows for reliable operation in a wide range of outdoor environments.
Can I use the same batteries from the Matrice 4T in the Matrice 4TD?
